5th Conference on Qualitative Psychology

The Qualitative Methods Laboratory (QualLab) and the Faculty of Psychology, University of Warsaw, invite you to the 5th Conference on Qualitative Psychology, devoted to methodological issues related to the qualitative paradigm, such as: defining research problems and selecting an appropriate qualitative methodology; adequate recruitment of participants and data collection in line with the adopted research model; and competent interpretation and reporting of results while maintaining scientific rigor.

Our previous meetings focused on interpretative phenomenological analysis, discourse analysis, narrative analysis, and thematic analysis. This time, the central focus will be grounded theory, a methodology widely used in the United Kingdom, yet still relatively rarely applied in psychological research in Poland. However, grounded theory is broadly employed by Polish sociologists and we will certainly benefit from their support during the conference.

We invite researchers, students, and clinicians interested in learning about qualitative methodologies in order to design and conduct research. We welcome submissions of presentations concerning primarily grounded theory as well as other approaches within qualitative methodology.

Date: 22–23 May 2026
Venue: Faculty of Psychology, ul. S. Banacha 2D, 02-097 Warsaw

Call for Submissions
We invite you to submit proposals for presentations and posters for the 5th Conference on Qualitative Psychology. The conference will focus on grounded theory, while welcoming contributions from the full spectrum of qualitative psychology and other disciplines. We particularly encourage submissions that address:
● applications and developments of grounded theory in psychological and interdisciplinary research,
● methodological challenges in qualitative inquiry (research design, sampling, data collection, analysis, and reporting),
● innovative uses of other qualitative approaches,
● considerations of rigor, ethics, and reflexivity in qualitative practice.

Abstracts from empirical, theoretical, and practice-oriented perspectives are welcome. Join us in creating a space for dialogue and exchange on the future of qualitative psychology in Poland and beyond.
